The Westchester Foundation was established to assist students who can make a difference in agriculture. The Westchester Foundation's specific purpose is to provide college scholarship funds for outstanding students pursuing degrees in agriculture or agriculturally related subject areas. The intention is to make sure that students who have the talent and drive to continue the extraordinary success of the nation's agribusinesses have the financial resources to pursue a college education. Viewed from an industry perspective, the Foundation has been funded to enhance the future of American agriculture by helping to ensure a steady supply of bright, dedicated, well-educated leaders.

Scholarship awards may be renewable annually for four years provided certain conditions are met. These conditions will be agreed upon prior to acceptance of the award, and the award amounts may vary. Qualified applicants will have strong academic credentials as measured by class rank, grade point average and test scores. Demonstrated leadership qualities, particularly in agriculture and community-based extracurricular activities, will also be considered.

National youth organizations, high schools and publications are notified of the availability of the scholarships, but anyone who would like to apply should contact The Westchester Foundation.
